After a very enjoyable shoot with Charlotte and Ava at the 7 Mile back in 2015, her mum Norma decided to surprise her with a photo shoot at her new yard with her very first pony, Flame. We wanted to capture all those precious memories and the special bond the two of them share while Flame is very much still fighting fit – even at the grand age of 25!! So we spent the majority of the shoot with Flame, before capturing some group shots with Ava at the end.
Charlotte was very well prepared for her shoot (again!) having bought both horses matching Le Mieux head collars and lead ropes, which Charlotte’s blue jacket tied in beautifully with. The two horses had been pampered all morning and were spotless when I arrived and Charlotte was just finishing up curling her hair in the Kitchen.
I followed Charlotte and Flame round to the ‘hospital paddock’ which gave us some nice scenery to play with for our photos. Luckily for us it was nice and enclosed, as Flame got a little excited and decided to run away at one point – which might I add made for some very funny action shots! We were then joined by the gorgeous Ava for some group photos up the track, before we headed to the barn to capture those studio-like black background photos. Both Ava and Flame looked gorgeous against the dark background – they each have such a beautiful presence about them!
We rounded up the shoot at the yard with the girls as we had another shoot straight after with Charlotte, Norma and the dogs, so we hopped in the car and made our way down the road to the Nature Reserve. Check out tomorrow’s blog for more on this!
