Linda invited me back to her yard, Prestwick Home Farm, after we had an enjoyable shoot last year with her two horses, Bob and Magpie! This time, Linda was keen to get some family photos with her daughter Jen, son Nick, and their two dogs, Yua and Joey. When I arrived on the yard, we were greeted by a downpour and thundery skies. Just as we were contemplating needing to reschedule, the skies cleared and left us just enough time for Linda and Julia to have their shoots!
After Julia’s shoot with Sox, Linda was all set to go next! Last year when I was photographing for Linda, she had mentioned how she was keen to get some family photos with the dogs too, so I was very excited when she booked back in to do so. We started the shoot in the buttercup field with the dogs, capturing them both having a good run around and play.
Joey went first - he is the better trained of the two dogs, but is going deaf so every now and then went for a wander, but always made his way back to play! Next up was Yua, who although went to puppy training classes initially, Linda said she ‘went feral’ and had a mind of her own! However, they were both a lot of fun to photograph and had the kindest of natures. Linda’s horse Bob then came along to join in for some group photos with the family in hand. We then popped Jen on board for some mounted shots, before Nick had a turn too!
We rounded up the shoot with some more family portraits, with and without the dogs, in the long grass by the tree stumps, before finishing up with some walking away shots up the track.
Thank you for inviting me back and introducing me to your lovely family, both two and four legged! I always have a lot of fun with the Prestwick lot and would like to say an extra thank you to Helen for always being so welcoming and accommodating when we come!
