I was invited to Holmside Hall by the gorgeous Emma, who wanted to book a photoshoot with her mare, Rio, as a celebration of 10 years owning her - wow! She bought Rio from a place in Northallerton as a 5 year old when she was being rehomed after her racing career, and they have been inseparable ever since! It was clear from the outset that Emma adores Rio, and vice versa. Although they have had their ups and downs, Emma has persisted with Rio and wouldn’t have had her any other way!
Due to a health scare a while ago, Emma was keen to have a photo shoot booked with her gorgeous mare. Emma told me how she had had a shoot before several years ago in their horsey attire and wanted to have another now Rio was in her teens to capture more of those precious memories to cherish for years to come. This time Emma was all glammed up in a royal blue dress with her hair up in a smart bun – she looked so classy and elegant! Rio’s chestnut coat was gleaming from her groom that morning and complimented the blue dress perfectly – it was clear Emma had put a lot of thought and preparation into her shoot.
We made our way round the yard, picking out a number of scenic spots for our photos – from which there were many to choose between! There were gorgeous rolling hills, wooden fences and long tracks to play with. After capturing a number of in hand bonding photos, Emma hopped on board in the bottom field with the long grass for some mounted shots with her golden girl. Emma’s equally beautiful mum, Gillian, who had been very kindly helping behind the scenes even stepped in for a handful of group shots to round up the shoot!
Thank you so much for organising a wonderful shoot day – I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you all and hope you had as much fun as I did!
