Thanks to the wonderful organisation skills of Emma, I had a fantastic yard shoot day at Holmside Hall. Last, but by no means least, were Rachael and Boo. I had met Rachael before many many years ago when out competing, before she got Boo. After buying Boo as a 5 year old, I have had the pleasure of following their journey over social media for the last 7 years, so was looking forward to getting them both in front of the camera!
Over the years, they have competed very successfully show jumping – making easy work of the foxhunter classes. Rachael is known for her sticky seat and nerves of steel, as Boo has always been a bit of a sprightly character who likes to stand up and wave at the crowd when he’s excited! But he is such a character and knows how to charm his way out of the bad books. During our shoot, he was true to form and had lots of presence about him – but looked all the more handsome for it.
Rachael had her makeup professionally done for the shoot and picked a purple dress out to match, along with her fantastic sparkly heels! They looked ever so glamorous (thankfully she had a change of clothes for mucking out in)! She then switched into another outfit for the second part of the shoot. This time she went for a classy, horsey look – with her show shirt and black jods. After capturing some black background photos in the barn, we then made our way down the track to round up the shoot with some photos in front of the gorgeous rolling hills.
It was lovely to get the two of you in front of the camera and I hope you are enjoying your photos! Thank you very much for having me.
