After receiving two photoshoot vouchers, Christine booked a shoot with her beautiful Thoroughbred x Irish Draught mare, Red. She followed on from Louise who had just had her shoot with super cob, Ralph. When I arrived at their yard in Morpeth, there was no mistaking who my victims of the day were – both horses were sparkling (so much so I was a bit concerned for their bareback shots, the horse’s coats looked a little on the slippy side), and both Chris and Louise were looking far too well dressed to be on muck out duties!

Chris was second to go and we began her shoot in the barn with Red, to capture some of those ever popular, studio-like black background shots. We captured a variety of headshots of Red, before Chris topped up her lippy and stepped in for some bonding photos. We then made our way out the front of the yard and round one of their favourite local hack routes where we had a gorgeous variety of backdrops to play with.

We had brick walls, overhanging trees, long grassy pathways and even a beautiful stream to work with – the sun had it’s hat on and the flowers were starting to bud, we couldn’t have had a better day for it! Chris was a complete natural in front of the camera and made my job very easy. After capturing a variety of in hand and mounted shots, we made our way back to the yard to meet Tony (Chris’ husband) and their two delightful pugs, Hugo and Ruby.

The second half of our shoot was spent capturing Hugo and Ruby at play on the grass out the front of their yard. It was a beautiful spot to let them off and for me to sit back and photograph as they got up to their usual mischief! We rounded up the shoot, and after a quick car check (to make sure I hadn’t dog napped Hugo and Ruby) I was sent on my way to head home and start editing our photos.

It was a complete pleasure meeting you all and thank you for making my visit so enjoyable. I hope you have lots of lovely memories to treasure with your four (and two!) legged family!
