Due to weather and abscesses, we had to reschedule Hannah and Venus’ shoot a couple of times, but third time lucky, we eventually had a lovely evening for the shoot! Hannah had seen a lot of friends on the yard having their shoot, and after being gifted a shoot voucher for her Birthday, she was excited to get hers booked in.
Hannah has owned 15 year old Venus since she was 6. She is well and truly part of the family, having always been there to welcome Hannah home from uni on the weekends, they have enjoyed lots of happy hacking over the years. More recently they have been competing in the dressage at home, to which they took to like ducks to water and brought back many frillies in the short space of time they have been doing it.
We had an hour and a half for the shoot, which gave us plenty time for a mix of black background photos, in hand bonding photos, and some mounted photos. After spending some time on the yard, using the barn doorway to create the studio-like black background images, we made our way round to the pond then up to the fields for the remainder of our shoot. Hannah and Venus have the most gorgeous bond which made my job so much easier!
Venus was a saint throughout the shoot and stood quietly wherever asked of her, before we tacked her up for some mounted photos and she showed us all just how much she loves a good canter round the fields!
Thank you for having me to photograph the two of you, I thoroughly enjoyed having the pair of you in front of the camera – was a pleasure! I hope you like your photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!
